Dortmund (GER) Bologans success is quite remarkable because it was his first performance in the tournament of XIX category. His play is distinguished by freshness, by variety of ideas and by pressure. At the same time, the world champions disappointed their fans. Kramnik made nine draws in a row after a beautiful victory in round 1. Anand started poorly, then it seemed that he re-established his play by the middle of the tournament having won three games in a row. But he was exhausted by the end of tournament… The candidate for the world title Peter Leko was in a very bad sporting form. He obtained several promising position but failed to win them. The spectators expected more from Teimur Radjabov though his 50 per cent result cannot be called a failure in such a tournament. |
