White resigned. The Hungarian grandmaster did it quite poorly in the tournament and in this game the white a4-rook was cut away from White's forces since move 25, so perhaps Almasi was utterly annoyed by looking at it. Besides, there was a guillotine time control with 30 seconds per move increment which only complicated the defense. However I am not sure that all the mentioned factors make a sufficient basis for resignation in a drawn position. I do not see any precise way to victory for Black there. [0:1]
