September 2-12, 2005

Evgeny Bareev Russia 58th Championship, Kazan, 66 participants, 9 rounds, Swiss tournament.
Time control: 1 h 40 min per 40 moves followed by 50 min per 20 moves and 10 min guillotine with 30 sec increment per each move starting from move 1.
The participants scoring seven best results will be admitted to the Superfinal of the 58th Russia Championship. The participant with the eighth result will be declared the first candidate to Superfinal.
The prize fund amounts to $100,000.

58th Russian Championship in Kazan' has finished.
The Russian champion is Evgeny Bareev having a better Buchgoltz coefficient than Alexander Khalifman who won the second place. The bronze medal was received by Sergey Volkov through additional criteria.
